Springtime in the Garden

Jefferson Market Garden is in beautiful bloom right now. Pay a visit, and donate if you can. Or just enjoy the spring beauty. It’s such a respite, and it doesn’t last long. (Hover your cursor over the photos for plant IDs.)

Hi Gini, Thanks!! Beautiful photos. My grandfather was a flower lover. He lived in the country and had a huge flower garden. I mean huge. And he just looked at them or gave some away. When he and my grandmother were older they sold the farm house and moved into town. My grandfather took a job as a gardener for the Masonic Retirement Home. I think this was just so he could grow more flowers. He also worked as a gardener at the Riverside Cemetery. While they lived in the country he also created a small orchard of obscure heritage apple varieties. This harvest he also gave away to all comers.Yesterday, when I drove into Gaylord I saw many daffodils in bloom…….in a minor snow squall!Stay safe,Duane.
